Mission Statement
The Clubhouse on Sutherland is a child-centered facility that utilizes friendly service and a kind, knowledgeable staff to provide a quality program: preschool to pre-teen. This care is provided in a clean environment that addresses the individual needs of each child through a whole child approach: spiritual, social, emotional, recreational, and educational.

Time and Days of Operation
The Clubhouse Child Care Center is open Monday through Friday,
7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Center will be closed on the following statutory holidays:

The Center is closed for maintenance during the last week of August.
Preschool Hours:
Preschool classes for 3 year olds will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Preschool classes for 4 year olds will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
A few spots will be available for 4 year olds to attend 5 days (Monday through Friday) from 8.30 a.m. - 11.30 a.m.
Please Note:
Preschool classes will not be in session during Christmas Break, Spring Break, and Summer Holidays.
Preschool classes will not be in session during all St. Joseph Elementary and School District #23 Professional Development Days.

Program Description – Little Angels Preschool
Little Angels Preschool offers a fun and stimulating program. We strive to provide an environment that promotes the spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of the individual child. This development is nurtured through prayer, art, music, stories, and manipulative and large muscle play. Through Christian example and loving care, we emphasize appropriate behaviour and problem-solving skills.
Dedicated, caring educators offer a child-centered foundation grounded in the “I Am Special” program. Early learning, school readiness, and fun are key concepts used to encourage the growth and development of all our unique little angels.

Program Description – Clubhouse on Sutherland Out of School Care
The Clubhouse on Sutherland provides school-age care for 5-12 year-olds. We strive to provide quality child care for the whole family, recognizing the uniqueness of the family unit and the types of care needed. We believe that each child deserves a stimulating, loving, and safe environment, which we provide through the following program:
The Out of School program is a recreational program for children in Kindergarten to Grade Seven. We provide a variety of crafts, activities, games, and sports. The Center also offers a homework program, in which staff assist students with their assigned homework and provide extra support in reading and math. Through all our activities, we foster a positive self-image and encourage good sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect for self and others.

Group Daycare Daily Routine
- Center opens at 7:00 a.m.
- Breakfast is available until 8:00 a.m.
- Open Morning snack is then available
- Circle time, followed by small group activities, art, science, etc.
- Afternoon snack time, followed by outside play
- Children return inside, free play
- Center closes at 5:30 p.m.

School Age Daily Routine – School Days
- Center opens at 7:00 a.m.
- Breakfast is available
- Free play time
- Children are transported or escorted to school
- Casorso children are picked up at school at 2:30 p.m. and transported back to the Center
- St. Joseph children sign in at the Center at 2:45 p.m., followed by outside play time
- Casorso children join St. Joseph children for outside play time – free play, sports and/or organized group games
- Afternoon snack is served: inside or outside, weather permitting
- Children return inside
- Free play
- Homework and Art Rooms open
- Center closes at 5:30 p.m.

School Age Daily Routine – Non-School Days
- Center opens at 7:00 a.m.
- Breakfast is available
- Free play time
- Seniors, Juniors and Kindergartens split into their own rooms
- Gathering time
- Children leave for field trip site if it is an Out Day
- Outside play time if it is an In-Center Day
- Free play, sports, water play and/or organized group games
Quiet time – children read/are read to
- Inside free play time
- Art activities and/or organized group activities
- Children return to the Center if it is an Out Day, followed by quiet reading time
- Children return inside
- Free play and indoor sports/organized games
- Afternoon snack is served
- Remaining Seniors, Juniors and Kindergartens combine
- Center closes at 5:30 p.m.

Payment is set at the time of registration. In order for your child to be registered in the program, you must provide a series of post-dated cheques—September to June.
Monthly fees are due on the first day of each month, regardless of absenteeism due to illness, vacations, or statutory holidays. The space that is booked must be paid for. There is no reimbursement for sick days or statutory holidays that fall on scheduled days.
This policy is in place to comply with the child : staff ratio regulations set out by the Child Care Licensing Department. Any variation of this policy is at the discretion of the manager and the board of directors.

What programs does The Clubhouse on Sutherland offer?
Group Daycare for ages 30 months to 5 years.
Morning Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds:
3 year olds Tuesday/Thursday 9.00am – 11.30am; 4 year olds Mon/Wed/Fri 9.00am – 11.30am. A limited number of spaces will be available for 5 mornings.
Before and after school care for children in Kindergarten to Grade Seven.
What schools does The Clubhouse on Sutherland offer service to?
We offer service to children from St. Joseph Elementary and Casorso Elementary. Childcare is also provided at the Clubhouse at A.S. Matheson,
located at A.S. Matheson Elementary School, and The Clubhouse at Raymer, located at Raymer Elementary School.
Do you provide morning care, and transportation to school?
Morning care is available from 7:00 every morning. There are a limited number of spots available for transportation to and from Casorso Elementary.
What are your hours of operation?
7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Is summer care available at The Clubhouse?
The Clubhouse does provide summer care. Families who attend The Clubhouse at Sutherland will have a chance to book summer care in the spring.
What are your fees?

Is there an extra charge for Professional Development days?
There is no charge for planned Pro-D days, however there is an extra charge for other non-school days.
Do you have a waitlist?
There is a waitlist for any Clubhouse program that is full.
Do you have a lunch/snack program?
A nutritious lunch, as well as morning and afternoon snacks, are provided for children in the Group Daycare program. Breakfast is provided before 8 am. School-age children are also given a healthy afternoon snack.
Do you take subsidy?
Yes.

Special Events
-Annual General Meeting-
The next AGM will be held in Spring 2011. It is important that all families attend. Childcare and pizza will be provided for the children.
