Another excellent fall semester

Posted 2018 by Audrey

The Clubhouse Farm is a busy place. The school age summer program runs July and August. The Fall Semester (September through November), and the Spring Semester (April through June) sees our weekly reoccurring preschool, daycare and school age group visits.

This year we again had two school age classes who get out on the same days every week for a full day of class outside at The Clubhouse Farm.  They play, explore, dig, garden, compost and get active – all while meeting the curriculum requirement for their grade level. We know that time in nature helps our children reduce stress and increase self resilience, but it also improves academic performance.

We’re slowing down our visits for the winter, as we haven’t quite figured out how to navigate the cold season (perhaps there are some yurts or a new farmhouse in our future). Continuing into the winter is our Ellison 4 year old Nature Preschool, and a few winter school class trips (complete with tobogganing, fort building, and roasting hot dogs over a fire).  Our Clubhouse daycare group trips will start up again in April, after the two week March Spring Break Nature Program.
